A clearer setup page

If you've been through Stripe before, you'll know the page bouncing back from Stripe used to either say "you're done" or send you back without much explanation. The new Set up payouts page now tells you exactly what's left, in your language: which specific item Stripe is waiting on, what to do about it, and whether anything is just being verified versus needing your attention.

We catch the things Stripe used to leave to chance

Before, you could finish Stripe's form, hit "Submit," and only find out weeks later — when the first payout failed — that something wasn't right. Now we check the same things ourselves on every visit, and tell you immediately. Two new ones:

• A bank account in the wrong currency. If you linked a USD bank account but your sales are in EUR, Stripe will charge you an FX fee on every payout (or sometimes refuse the payout entirely). We now flag this on the setup page so you can swap to a same-currency account before it costs you anything.
• Stripe still verifying your details. If Stripe is checking documents you submitted, the page now says so clearly — instead of looking like you have something to fix.

A celebration when payouts are ready

When Stripe finally signs you off and your bank's connected, you'll see a small celebration card before the page invites you to create your first listing. We thought that moment deserved more than a silent redirect.

One page, one URL

If you bookmark the payouts setup page, it's now /seller/setup/payouts/. Old bookmarks and email links keep working — they redirect over.
